7-eleven is a popular convenience store in the US and several other countries. It deals with an array of goods and services. The company is currently conducting a trial run on their new cashless fuel loyalty program.
The loyalty reward system is compatible with Siri, allowing iPhone users to conduct a contactless checkout. Currently, the convenience-store company is running pilot projects for the fuel rewards system across several areas, including Orlando, Texas, and Florida.
The fuel discount system will run on the 7-eleven mobile app as part of the 7rewards loyalty payments program. Consumers who utilize this discount system will also earn loyalty points that are redeemable once they reach a certain threshold.
7-eleven will provide clients with a discount of 11 cents for every gallon purchased for up to 20 gallons per-refueling stop. This discount will only be available for the initial seven transactions, after which the discount drops to 3 cents for every gallon purchased.
Clients can purchase fuel easily on the 7-eleven app using an authorized credit or debit card. The application supports multiple mobile payment platforms such as Google and Apple pay.
iPhone owners can use the Siri payment option to do transactions at their convenience. After setting up the relevant payment details, the user can utter a command to initiate the contactless payment.
The Siri payment process allows a 7-eleven customer to choose a specific fuel pump and authenticated payment. Furthermore, the iPhone user can set up a Siri shortcut that simplifies the whole checkout process during future fuel transactions.
Currently, the fuel discount is at a few selected locations. However, the 7Rewards system is accessible to consumers across the country. 7-eleven says it has more than 30 million participants in their reward program.
7-Eleven is setting up more mobile checkout stations in Utah
In recent times, the convenience chain store has been setting up more mobile checkout stations across the US, particularly in Utah. Such stations have a contactless purchase system where consumers shop and pay “cashlessly.”
The cashless system was initiated in 2018 and had several stations across New York and Dallas. In this mobile checkout service, consumers collect goods and utilize a barcode scanner for scanning them. The 7-Eleven app then provides the consumer with different forms of payment, after which a short code is required.
The code appears on a confirmation screen in the shop servings as the final authentication process. The mobile checkout system helps to reduce person to person contact for 7-Eleven shoppers, which comes in handy amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
